What you can do with it

  • A range, never one date

The earliest and latest dates the FDA's rows give, each named by its rule, so the last patent is never mistaken for the day protection ends.

  • Every date traced

Each date carries the source file, the row, the file's own date when known, the capture date and the checksum, so you can check it against the FDA's file.

  • Patents as listed

Listed patents with their substance, product and use flags, pediatric rows as the FDA lists them, and delist requests and use codes kept in view.

  • Exclusivities with codes

Each non-patent exclusivity with the FDA's definition of its code, and NCE-1 computed with its definition shown.

  • Generics and Paragraph IV

Candidate ANDA rows matched by ingredient and dosage form, with listed therapeutic-equivalence codes; these are not confirmed reference-product links, beside the Paragraph IV list's row for the product.

  • Biologics from the Purple Book

Reference-product, interchangeable and orphan exclusivity dates where the FDA lists them, with the gaps stated.

  • A date window

Listed dates from captured rows between two dates, with the rule behind each entry and the applicant as listed.

  • What changed

Rows added, removed or changed in the FDA's files between captures, for one product or across the whole file.

Where it runs and what it sends

This app declares no external public data hosts.

Anything in the address bar before the # (a search, a SMILES, an accession or a step) is sent to this site's host when a page loads or a link is opened; anything after the # is not sent.

Not used, by licence:

  • DrugPatentWatch, Pharsight (GreyB), Patsnap and Evaluate. Subscription services and third-party aggregators; never read, seeded, compared or used as an oracle (research 9.5).
  • Patent full text, claims and families (USPTO, EPO, Google Patents, Lens). Not US public-domain data as a set and outside the app's scope; a patent number links out as navigation only.
  • Court records (PACER) and litigation trackers. Litigation is not in the FDA's files; no estimate covers a curated litigation line, so none is shown.
  • Company filings as a data source. A company-disclosed date is a hand-curated quotation of one filing per product, planned for a curated set; none ships until that set exists.
