Ideal liquid transfers

Tracks nominal volume, amount and origin at accepted action boundaries, with separate possible tip-contact paths.

Its result goes through 1 method. The lowest level among them: Checked against a reference.

Equation

Δn = n_source × ΔV / V_source; C = n / V for V > 0

Limits that apply here

  • Research planning and rehearsal, not medical advice. Calculations assume exact nominal liquid transfers and additive volumes; they do not establish that a preparation will work at the bench.
  • Supports a bounded 96-well plate, a twelve-position tube strip and declared reservoirs, with one- or eight-channel transfers. Unsupported layouts are refused.
  • Aspiration requires a declared homogeneous source. A mixing action records that assumption; the tool does not calculate mixing time, shear or dissolution.
  • Unknown material amounts stay unknown. An empty container has no defined concentration. Displayed concentrations are bulk averages, not spatial measurements.
  • Tip reuse shows possible contact paths only. Residual liquid, contamination amount, adsorption, evaporation, viscosity, pipette error and biological response are not predicted.
  • Capacity, reserve and instrument limits are the values you declare. Rendered geometry is illustrative and is not a calibrated labware definition or a robot instruction.

Methods

Ideal liquid-transfer ledger

  • Level: Checked against a reference
  • Reference: Material balance for an ideal homogeneous transfer: Δn = n_source × ΔV / V_source; C = n / V when V > 0. Exact rational reference: stored reference values, reference 1.0.0.
  • How it was checked: Checked against a separately implemented Python Fraction reference for nominal transfer accounting, constraints and unknown handling. Synthetic planned scenarios; not empirical pipetting validation.

Limits

Not medical advice. Nothing here is advice about any medicine, treatment or condition, and nothing here is an assessment of any person's variant, sample or molecule. Decisions made with it are yours.
